Gleaners Community Kitchen

Knitters, unite!! Tom Carter and the Gleaners Community Kitchen is looking for knitted caps to give away to guests at Christmastime. If you have the time and inclination, knit on, and bring your offerings in to the office when you are able . . . and thanks!

The Gleaners Community Kitchen will close between November 22 and November 30, reopening on Monday, December 3. During that time, all furniture and equipment will be moved to storage pods and the entire dining room floor will be replaced. Then, of course, everything has to be moved backed again. While the flooring is being installed, the staff and some volunteers will be doing some “deep cleaning” of the kitchen itself. Interestingly, the tile in the dining room is original to the building – from 1964! It has held up pretty well considering the use it gets on a daily basis!

The March for Hunger will be March 10, 2019.  Details to follow.

The Gleaners Community Kitchen is committed to making a difference in the lives of those in need. We provide our hungry neighbors with nutritious meals every day—without question and at no cost. We accomplish this through the dedication of our volunteers, with donations and gifts from the community, and by treating our guests with compassion and dignity.

Gleaners Community Kitchen

The Gleaners Community Kitchen has received a grade rating of “A” from Foodlink – the Rochester food bank. That means we are running one of the top kitchens in the area and it doesn’t get any better than that! Thanks to Capt. Tom and his crews for such great service, meals, cleanliness, and resourcefulness.

More soup! Gleaners Soup is available in the Lounge area for just $8. As always, all proceeds go to support Gleaners Community Kitchen.
